This rally is scheduled for Labor Day weekend (Sept 4th weekend).
Ferries will be crowded that weekend & if you do not make a reservation,
you may have a few sailings to wait. Alternatively you can cross on
Thursday and either find a campsite en route or go ahead to Tofino.
You can take BC Ferries from Tsawwassen, BC,
Horsehoe Bay. BC or Blackball Ferries from Port Angeles. Those able to do so may want to consider returning on Tuesday
to avoid the ferry rush.
The rally is on the west coast of Vancouver Island near Tofino (click
itinerary link below), so from Tsawwassen you want to go to Duke Point,
or from Horseshoe Bay, to Nanaimo. Those taking the Washington State
Ferry have to drive up island from Victoria to north of Nanaimo to get
across to Tofino.
Tsawwassen is about 30 min from the I-5 border crossing, Take hwy 99 towards Vancouver, exit at Hwy 10 & follow signs for ferry. If you have reservations you must be there at least 30 min before sailing time. Remember, the border may be busy.
